Gifted students that struggle to perform to academic expectations are often misunderstood for being lazy, or not trying hard enough. A dual differentiation definition through a cognitive diversity lens will be presented. Implementation strategies will be illustrated through case study examples.

Lin Lim holds a doctorate in psychology from Boston University, a Mind, Brain, and Education Graduate Certificate from Johns Hopkins University, and an Academic Graduate Certificate in twice-exceptional education from Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity. She serves on the SENG board of directors and is the Associate Dean of Media and Public Relations at Bridges Graduate School. Her parenting journey drives her to create better understanding and nurturance for neurodiverse children.
Rashmii Mahendra has an MBA from a Russell-group University with a Graduate Certificate in Twice-Exceptional education and a doctoral candidate at Bridges Graduate School of Cognitive Diversity in Education. Rashmii is a mother to a twice-exceptional boy and her journey was inspired because of him. She advocates for strength-based learning and development of the whole child from a neurodiversity lens. Rashmii currently resides in the UK and brings a multicultural, international perspective.
